Jameela Lares is Professor of English at The University of Southern
Mississippi.  She has taught children's and young adult literature for
many years in both the US and UK and is currently working on articles
on Winnie-the-Pooh and on British children's fantasy.  She has been a member of the International Committee of the Children's Literature
Association.  Her other research and teaching interests include John
Milton and the seventeenth century, literary study of the Bible, and
